Funny thing about the word staples…not everyone uses it or has heard of it. In case you don’t or haven’t, staples are things you buy every time you go to the grocery store or constantly keep on hand like eggs, milk, butter, flour, sugar, etc. For me, the staples of summer are cutoff shorts, white t-shirts, and flip flops, the easy pieces you wear in rotation. Lately though, I have been loving the idea of jazzed up staples, like a denim vest or a lace t-shirt to make casual and easy look ever slightly so put together. I loves me some effortless with a tiny tinge of put together, in clothes and in life in general.
My most recent fashion blogger crush is on Jules from Sincerely, Jules. I can’t even begin to pinpoint what her style is, but every outfit she puts together incorporates high and low pieces, vintage, a little class, and a little sass. I’m also in love with her awesome hair.
On the top of my list of things to add to my spring & summer rotation, along with a felt floppy hat & huaracha sandals, is the perfect little straw bag.
Some of my faves (all from etsy cause I think vintage is the way to go here, newer versions look cheapy/cheesy to me):
Blogger and stylist Beth Jones has arguably the best style ever. And most likely the best closet full of vintage clothes as well. She puts together outfits that I would have never been able to dream up in a million years. layering dresses, mixing affordable fashion from big box stores and vintage, and seemingly never being at a loss for the PERFECT accessories for every outfit.
