Life lately

Enjoying these little ladies that are impossible to get a non-blurry picture of.  Sean has been working away at building them the coolest chicken coop.  He seriously amazes me sometimes.  This thing is built better than our house! Chicken post soon to come…

The cats are enjoying the bench we recently setup in Hazel’s room.

A break from working to get lunch and some fruit at Avila Barn.

Found some bedding on sale at Pottery Barn and jumped on it.  The exposed white faux down comforter was getting a little sad.

Scored some cool old washboards on Craigslist for the laundry room.

Anxiously awaiting the delivery of this beauty that is the first piece of decor for the nursery.

Spent this past weekend sanding, sanding, sanding a dresser for Hazel’s room.  And then stained it right up in about 15 minutes.  Its allllll in the prep.  With life too, really, huh?

This pretty plant by the sink is making me really happy.  Just hope I can keep it alive…I tend to kill houseplants.

Terribly blurry picture but we had our first fondue in the house on Saturday night!  Fondue is kind of a big deal to us so it was a fun first.

We’ve been planning meals and cooking from the garden a lot lately.

Stocking up on some swimming supplies for Hazel just in case it decides to be a nice warm fall and she decides to come out eager to hit the pool.  A girl can dream right?

Too bad its blurry because that shot of you fondu-ing is one of the best pictures! You look so gorge! Maybe you look so good because you are having fondu…

I agree with Cate…that is a great picture and you do look “gorge”!! Love the wall hanging for Hazel’s room. Great colors and textures…very cool! Same with the bench…really like that too! And that little bathing suit is too darn cute…can’t wait to see little Hazel in it 😉 So curious…where do you keep the “little ladies”? Are they “free range” in the house?? And the cats don’t bother them?? I think that’s so fun that you have chickens! Life is good…

Right now the ladies spend most of their time in a big galvanized tub in the laundry room but they come out every night when were home and fly around the house and have free range of the place. The cats are, so surprisingly, interested but not bothersome to them at all. Thank goodness! And as soon as the coop is ready (hopefully by this weekend), they will go outside. They really love flapping around and pecking the ground and even though they technically could be inside a couple more weeks, I think with how moderate our weather is and how well sealed the coop is, they are ready to fly the nest. I cant wait for you to meet them! You are going to love them, they all have such cute little personalities.

Completely aside from the original subject here, but as a reply to Cloudberry:Would you not be mad if foreigners gave your country to someone else because their so called “holy book” tells them it’s theirs? Hell, i could write a book and say it’s gods work and get myself a country. Maybe i should be a subject to a genocide first by a third party to make it look more righteous for me.
